How Can I Gain Weight While Keeping a Healthy Diet?

Do you have a health regime that you want to share or need help to improve? Nor getting the results you wanted from a new regime or feel its doing well in keeping you in tip top shape?

I am 5'6"and weigh about 122 pounds. I have always been a healthy size 6, and now I am down to a size 2. I eat the same as I always have (which is about every 2 hours), work out (although I not as often as I would like), and I can't seem to gain weight. I look like a string bean! I feel like I have no shape anymore. I don't want to eat all fried foods and sugary foods because that's not good for you, but how can I gain some weight and curves while keeping a healthy diet? (BTW, I don't eat any red meat or pork)

there are people who cannot GAIn weight, no matter what (just as there are people who find it hard to lose weight) It seems like you are trying hard to gain weight, but it could be that you have a body weight that sets itself at a point at which your body is"comfortable"with. in that case, it will be hard to lose or gain weight. i would try to continue what you are doing, but maybe you should go see an RD (registered dietician) they may suggest another way to gain weight, or they might suggest a weight-gaining supplement.oh yeah, and Carnation makes a Breakfast shake that has a lot of vitamins and nutrients in it. I know someone who drank two or three of those a day, and they gained weight, but they are expensive. in any case, see a professional =)

I would talk with a professional nutritionist for an answer like this one .. in the mean time . you could try eating your regular meals and drink prepared body building drinks that are sold at nutritional stores ..like GNC . Either that , or just eat as regular and drink cans of Slim Fast between each of your meals. Anything that will give you extra calories should be helpful towards your goal. There are also Vegan Pizzas out there ! Good Luck ! :)

Any drastic weight loss should be evaluated by a doctor. Get a check up and insist on bloodwork. It could be your thyroid or OCD or a number of easy to correct problems that will get worse if untreated. Whatever you do don't eat junk to gain weight. that will just add to your problems

You can add healthy forms of fat to your diet by eating more whole grains(the carbohydrates will help as well) and nuts as well as peanut butter.Things like rice and oatmeal proved very effective for me as well fo gaining weight.If you're not doing so already eat more meals throughout the day 6-8.Things like eggs in moderation are also healthy being that you'll need the protein to support your exercise program.It's important to not overcook protein or use very high heat because you'll denature the protein and render it useless.A whey supplement will help as well if you're not lactose intolerant.Designer Whey from Next Proteins is 99% lactose free and hydrolyzed for better assimilation.Barring any of that working you should have your thyroid levels checked by a doctor.Hyperthyroidism is dangerous but can be cured.

It might sound to simple an answer,but what you need to do is eat more chicken or fish plustry not do to much cardio.Stick to lifting weightsand eating more healthy foods.p.s.I was the same way when i was 16-22years old (5'7"100 pounds) and once I started lifting weights my metabolism slowed down and I got up to 155lbs GOOD LUCK!
